Through our affiliate, the Center for Maternal-Fetal Care, we now offer complete prenatal care. Center for Maternal-Fetal Care is located within our facility, with its own waiting room that features plenty of space for families. CMFC offers physician specialists, supported by a full complement of nursing staff, ultrasound technologists, medical assistants and office staff. Their training and experience allow families to receive excellent medical care in a calm, soothing and compassionate environment. Our center offers all of the obstetrical expertise necessary to ensure the best possible experience for mother and baby.

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Columbia Regional Hospital's Family Birth Center to create a fresh approach to obstetric care. We are introducing a new model for delivery of obstetric care to the Midwest. This model is gaining favor across the country because it can lead to safer hospital experiences, better outcomes, and higher patient satisfaction, both in the office and in the hospital setting.

Women who choose to come to Women's Wellness Center for their prenatal care will receive all of their outpatient prenatal care with  the physicians and nursing specialists of our affiliate practice, the Center for Maternal-Fetal Care. When hospital services are needed, this care will be provided at the Family Birth Center at Columbia Regional Hospital by a faculty member of the MU Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. We believe this model results in the best possible care for mother and baby because it allows them to be seen by a health care provider whose responsibilities are centered in a single location.

During the day, office care will be provided in a timely fashion, avoiding long delays associated with unanticipated emergencies that result in the physician leaving the office. You will be seen by a health care provider who is well-rested and focused on your concerns. During evenings and weekends, and during the birthing process, you will be cared for in an academic setting, where treatment is patient-centered and evidence-based. A board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist is on duty, physically present in the Family Birth Center, dedicated to the care of pregnant women 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These physicians are there for you when you need them. Medical records are shared between our two facilities, maintaining confidentiality and HIPPA requirements, so that all health care providers have the necessary information to care for you and your baby.
